"Only as high as I reach can I grow,
Only as far as I seek can I go,
Only as deep as I look can I see,
Only as much as I dream can I be."
Only as far as I seek can I go,
Only as deep as I look can I see,
Only as much as I dream can I be."
Aah to be in Utopia, where you can speak such words, dream such dreams, aim such heights. I would like to be the tallest, the farthest, the deepest, the dreamiest. Such are my dreams, such is what I set out with, such is what I aimed for. To reach beyond myself, or what I am now, is what I dream.
Who am I? Like every other person with these thoughts, I am an entrepreneur. Now I agree, we do not live in Utopia, and most of us are aware that we cannot dream about reality to be thus either. So we understand the additional efforts we have to make to realize our dreams. Things are already set, novelty, new ideas and businesses are but to be resisted by those who are already there. In economics we are taught perfect competition as the first rule, but we are soon that it is an illusion to believe that it exists. We then move on to oligopolies and cartels and that amazing world which is reality. There are always barriers to entry, and those we cannot avoid.
But is there to be no place at all for a new entrepreneur? I confess to myself that such a scenario was nowhere even in the periphery of my imagination, as I suppose it isn't on the horizon of anyone who dreams. I want a small space in this big world, I am not given any since I am a newcomer and as yet untested. Who do I go to with my plea? I confess I know not. This is but my first hurdle. How many more do I face? I confess I know not. Will I succeed? I confess I know not?
But there is a bigger picture, and a bigger question on that bigger canvas. Will I stop painting my dreams on this canvas? I confess that I WILL not. My dreams are mine, as is the canvas I choose, and yet as many people will try to tear that canvas and defile my painting, I will keep painting over it, and hope to bring to life those dreams.
Why? Because as someone once said, "A rock pile ceases to be a rock pile the moment a single man contemplates it, bearing within him the image of a cathedral"
nicely written!! go create your own cathedral girl..
