This would be My Winning Speech on being rewarded the BlogAdda Blog Award!
Wow! Thank you!
If I said this is most unexpected, I would be faking it. If I said I have was so unprepared I do not have a speech, I would probably be double faking it!
So, for an award which I was expecting, here's the speech I have prepared.
I would be lying if I said that my legs aren't trembling behind this dias, or that I wish I could just accept this award with the written word.. I candidly accept that I am only a writer, not an orator. But, as they say, when life gives you lemons, you just have to make lemonade, or if possible, a lemon cheesecake might just be a tastier option, for me at least.
I dedicate this award to my parents, who inculcated the habit of reading in me. If truth be told, I find I draw a lot of inspiration from what I read. Most of it comes from my heart, but I think somewhere we always retain a lot of what we read, and it has a major impact on the words which flow from our very souls. I wish I could get this award from Anna Sewell. Her short life's beautiful work was one of the first books I truly appreciated, and it was probably one of the first books which gave me an insight on what life could be like (even if it was seen through the eyes of a horse, not a human being).
Life has only told me, always write from your heart, the rest just falls into place- if not today, then some day. That some day for me is today, may I win many more of these beauties.
Cheers!
